Job details Public Health Research Institute (PHRI) located in C.S.I. Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, Mysore, India has active collaborations with the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, San Francisco. PHRI is focused on research and service contributing to evidence-based healthcare for women and children of India.

Position: Program Coordinator

Reports to: Project Director

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Plan, develop, coordinate and manage projects/grant programs for PHRI and its collaborators.
* Hire, manage and nurture PHRI staff carrying out field public health programs throughout Mysore District.
* Monitor all program activities, conduct project reviews, and prepare interim and final project reports.
* Manage project budgets within project guidelines under the guidance of Project Director.
* Assist in the compilation of grant proposals and reports in conjunction with appropriate staff.
* Identify training needs and assist in the implementation of in-house workshops and training courses
* Liaise regularly with all related collaborating bodies, organizations, internal and external agencies and any other governmental or non-governmental authorities to maintain good working relationships and ensure the smooth operation of all projects.
* Accompany donors and collaborators on field visits when requested.
* Support and assist the Project Director in compiling data for grant applications and reports as required.
* Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Project Director.

Personal Requirements:

* Post-graduate/Masters degree in Management or Public Health with at least 3 years of management experience in a recognized organization or NGO.
* English and Kannada proficiency required.
* Computer literacy a must.
* Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
* Excellent inter-personal skills and presentation skills
* Willingness to engage in project travel when needed.
* Ability to multitask and work in high pressure situations.
* Strong commitment to public health.
* Female candidates strongly preferred.
