The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The
Union) is an international scientific organisation headquartered in
Paris, France since 1920. The Union has been a leader in the field of
tuberculosis since its establishment and works closely with the World
Health Organization.
Its scientists developed the internationally recommended TB control
strategy, known as DOTS, which, since 1993, has been implemented in
182 countries for treating nearly 22 million patients.
The Union is also one of the partners of the Bloomberg Global
Initiative to reduce Tobacco use. The Union provides direct technical
assistance to 53 countries, conducts clinical trials, organises
international conferences and training courses, manages the Fund for
Innovative DOTS Expansion through Local Initiatives to Stop TB
(FIDELIS) and publishes the peer reviewed International Journal of

The Union is seeking qualified local candidates for the position of
Training Coordinator (ref TR JC01) to be posted in our Indian
Resource Center office:
Overall role:
Within our Finance & Development department, he or she will perform
administration and coordination services for The Union Management
courses (over 30 sessions in 2008, 400 participants worldwide
dedicated to provide knowledge and skills required by healthcare
professionals and managers to develop public health programmes) in
close collaboration with Department(s) management, personnel and
externals consultants.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all implementation, maintenance, monitoring of training
requirements and that standards set by The Union are met
Support in maintaining training plans, training schedules, training
records (electronic records also), updates and prepares course
materials
Track training activities completion including SOP/courses and report
training metrics on a timely basis to Department management
Assist department (s) management to identify areas of performance
improvement, development and training needs and act as training
network partner within the site, support, foster know- how-exchange
and support overall-training-strategy
Contribute to marketing development of our Management courses
Oversee all financial and administrative logistics related to
management courses
Ensure effective liaison with participants, consultants/trainers,
faculty and venues to ensure any requirements are met including
accommodation, equipment requirements, travel etc.
Specifies venue requirements for short courses, select venues,
negotiate venue price and liaise with the chosen venues.
Coordinates hotel room bookings for training events and meetings
Coordinates team meetings and sessions with training faculty to
periodically review training development
Performs other related job duties as needed
Qualifications
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Social Work
(MSW) from an accredited institution or higher education with at
least 3 to 5 years demonstrated working experience within related
area of responsibility
A sound understanding of the processes and considerations involved in
a non profit organisation with a proactive approach to problem-
solving and attention to detail
Capacity to solicit and identify trainings needs and provide adapted
solutions
Excellent organisational skills and ability to successfully manage
competing priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (Excel, word, outlook)
International travels required occasionally
